Average broadband Internet speed in Azerbaijan up by over 35%

In February 2024, Azerbaijan ranked 115th among 183 countries for average fixed broadband Internet speed, up three notches from January. The average download speed was 37.32 Mbps, Report informs, referring to the Speedtest Global Index.

This is 35.4 percent more than in the same period last year (27.57 Mbps).

The first place in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed in February 2024 was occupied by Singapore (286.66 Mbit/s), and the last place - by Cuba (2.55 Mbit/s).

In February, Azerbaijan ranked 59th among 155 countries in terms of mobile Internet speed (48.41 Mbit/s).

In terms of mobile Internet speed, Qatar ranked first (286.42 Mbit/s) in February 2024, and East Timor (Timor-Leste) occupied the last place (3.34 Mbit/s).

During the reporting month, Baku moved one notch ahead among 201 cities in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed compared to the previous month and occupied 135th place (38.85 Mbit/s).

Abu Dhabi tops the ranking of cities with fixed broadband Internet access (300.12 Mbit/s), while Havana (1.95 Mbit/s) ranks last.

In February, Baku ranked 77th among 178 cities in terms of mobile Internet speed (55.3 Mbit/s).

The first place in terms of mobile Internet speed is taken by Ar-Rayyan (417.17 Mbit/s), and the last place was won by the capital of Cuba, Havana (4.6 Mbit/s).
