Average broadband Internet speed in Azerbaijan rises by over 35%

Azerbaijan ranked 113th among 159 countries in average fixed broadband Internet speed in June 2024, up five notches from May. The average download speed was 39.87 Mbps, Report informs, referring to Speedtest Global Index.

This is 35.3 percent more than in the same period last year, when it was 29.47 Mbps.

The first place in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed in June 2024 was taken by Singapore (285.02 Mbit/s), and the last place by Cuba (2.79 Mbit/s).

In June 2024, Azerbaijan ranked 49th among 108 countries in terms of mobile Internet speed (52.63 Mbit/s), up 10 notches from May.

In terms of mobile Internet speed, the Qatar took first place (334.63 Mbit/s) in June 2024, and Cuba took the last place (4.02 Mbit/s).

During the reporting month, Baku moved two notches ahead among 202 cities in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed compared to the previous month and took 135th place (41.17 Mbit/s).

Abu Dhabi tops the ranking of cities with fixed broadband Internet access (310.49 Mbit/s), Aleppo (1.87 Mbit/s) ranked the last.

In June, Baku ranked 70th among 161 cities in terms of mobile Internet speed (63.92 Mbit/s).

The first place in terms of mobile Internet speed is taken by Ar-Rayyan (419.35 Mbit/s), and the last place by the capital of Cuba, Havana (4.47 Mbit/s).
