Alper Gezeravci: Readiness for urgent challenges in space is a top priority

Alper Gezeravci, Türkiye's first astronaut and former military pilot, emphasized that readiness for urgent challenges in space sector is one of the main tasks facing the world today.

According to Report, he made this statement during the "Adapting Business Strategies to Society's Demands, Current Issues, and Improving Life in the World" panel at the Baku ID (Baku Investment Day) festival.

For the past 23 years, this former fighter pilot has been rigorously preparing for various space missions.

The Turkish astronaut also shared his impressions of the 74th International Astronautical Congress, noting that hosting events in this sphere in Azerbaijan's capital contributes significantly to the development of the space sector.

"One of our tasks as astronauts is to educate young people about space, to spark their interest and love for this science," he said.
