WHO to create Simulation and Training Center in Azerbaijan

A preliminary agreement has been reached on the establishment of a joint Simulation and Training Center of the Azerbaijani Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

This issue was discussed during the meeting between the Executive Director of TABIB Vugar Gurbanov and WHO representative in Azerbaijan, Head of Country Office Hande Harmanci.

The meeting was attended by WHO expert Ibrahim Durak, director of the Health Department of the city of Baku Elchin Amirov, head of the Medical Activities Organization Department of TABIB Teymur Mirzabayli.

Vugar Gurbanov said that TABIB and the Baku office of WHO have had close cooperation during the past period and implemented several important projects together.

Hande Harmancı, in turn, initiated the creation of a Simulation and Training Center with the support of TABIB to involve medical workers in rapid experience exchanges. She said that the main goal of the establishment of the Center is to increase the knowledge and skills of medical workers as well as to train local trainers.
