The World Health Organization recommends moving forward as quickly as possible with the coronavirus vaccination, Report informs citing Katherine O'Brien, director of the World Health Organization's Department of Immunization, Vaccines, and Biologicals.
Explaining whether testing is necessary before vaccination, O'Brien notes that WHO has been clear about this - there is no such recommendation.
According to her, the need or requirement for people to be tested before getting vaccinated creates a new barrier for them. Not everyone who has been infected will have long-term immunity, she said.
The advice is to move forward as quickly as possible with vaccinations, starting with high-risk groups, she stressed.
