WHO official: Any vaccine brought to Azerbaijan will be useful

"To date, there is no vaccine approved by the World Health Organization because the virus is very new," Report quotes World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Azerbaijan, Hande Harmanci.

The WHO official noted that many countries had already started obtaining licenses for some vaccines:

"Our organization is closely following this work. We will soon announce our recommendations for the purchase and use of emergency vaccines. We are satisfied with the vaccines used so far because the results are flawless. However, we will continue to control the situation. We believe that whichever vaccine is brought to Azerbaijan, it will be useful. We will inform the public in due course."

Harmanci reminded that Azerbaijan is developing the selection of COVID-19 vaccines and vaccination strategy:

"We also provide technical support. A WHO expert will visit Azerbaijan soon to provide support. Once the strategy is ready, we will know the number of vaccines to be purchased."
