The World Health Organization (WHO) has noted the positive results of the PROACT-Care project, implemented by WHO through the Universal Health Coverage Partnership (UHC Partnership), in Azerbaijan’s Shamakhi city, Report informs referring to the press service of the WHO.
The project is aimed at facilitating access to medical services in remote and rural areas of the country.
Earlier, as part of the project, Shamakhi hosted an opening ceremony for three mobile primary health care clinics, which are now visiting these remote areas and providing essential health services.
The PROACT-Care project was implemented with financial support from USAID, UK Aid and UHC. In its implementation, the WHO Office in Azerbaijan was assisted by TABIB, the Shamakhi Region Executive Power, the Ministry of Health, the Compulsory Health Insurance Agency, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNICEF.
