When will Azerbaijan receive 84,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine?

Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance Zaur Aliyev has held an online meeting with Senior Manager for Communications of GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization) Rosie Greaves and UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) Representative to Azerbaijan Edward Carwardine, the Agency told Report.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the issue of importing the anti-COVID vaccine owned by AstraZeneca into Azerbaijan.

Rosie Greaves said that 84,000 doses of the vaccine owned by AstraZeneca will be sent from South Korea to Azerbaijan at the initial stage on April 5.

The vaccine will be delivered to the country within five-six days. Also, within eight weeks, 218,790 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will be allocated to Azerbaijan.

By the end of May, Azerbaijan plans to import a total of 432,000 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19, owned by AstraZeneca.
