UK records 34 cases of new Covid strain

UK doctors have revealed 34 cases of infection with a new version of coronavirus BA.2.86, Report informs via foreign media.

"Of the 34 cases in England, 28 occurred in one outbreak in the nursing home in Norfolk," the report said.

Healthcare workers are already working in the institution together with representatives of the Government authorities in order to prevent the spread of the virus. Five infected are hospitalized.

The new version of coronavirus was first discovered in the UK, it is marked by a large number of mutations in a spike-shaped protein.
