A meeting was held with Egidius Navikas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Azerbaijan, at the Ministry of Health, Report says, citing the Ministry.
As reported, Health Minister Teymur Musayev stressed the dynamic development of friendly relations between the countries.
Pointing out the successful cooperation in many fields, including the field of healthcare and medical science, Teymur Musayev noted that there is great potential for the exchange of experience between national healthcare institutions and the expansion of relations in the pharmaceutical industry: "Moreover, to increase the efficiency of the health care of our countries, there are all necessary means for interaction in the field of medical education, including all opportunities for the exchange of modern methodical and scientific-practical experience in continuing professional education of higher medical specialists".
In turn, Egidius Navikas noted the importance of high-level mutual visits in expanding bilateral relations. Pointing out that the Cooperation Memorandum was signed between the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and the Azerbaijan Medical University in May of this year, the ambassador emphasized that the document will contribute to the expansion of medical cooperation between our countries.
Expressing his support for the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan's healthcare system, the ambassador noted that his country is ready to contribute in every way to the modernization of the medical education system in Azerbaijan, following internationally accepted methodologies and standards.
The current state of cooperation in healthcare and medical science and potential development opportunities were discussed at the meeting in a constructive atmosphere of mutual understanding.
