Signs of high cholesterol levels revealed

Some changes in appearance can signal high cholesterol levels.

Report informs, citing The Express, that this problem may be indicated by "fatty bumps" on the face, known as xanthomas. They appear around the eyelids and grow for several months.

Another symptom of high cholesterol, according to scientists, can be grayish-white rings around the cornea of ​​the eyes, which doctors call the corneal arch.

These signs may also indicate hypercholesterolemia - a hereditary factor when the liver breaks down excess cholesterol poorly.

The Express also listed factors that affect cholesterol levels. They rise with excessive consumption of foods high in saturated fats, lack of physical activity, smoking, and alcohol abuse.
