The South Korean government has donated medical equipment to Azerbaijan to protect the health of vulnerable children in the post-pandemic period, Report informs.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance Zaur Aliyev, Korean Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Eun Yong, Executive Director of the Azerbaijani Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TƏBIB) Vugar Gurbanov and others.
Speaking at the event, Zaur Aliyev said that the Korean government has always supported Azerbaijan in matters of public health: "Korea has made great strides in the field of health insurance. Of course, a long way has been walked for this. We are very interested in using the rich Korean experience. We will work to further develop and strengthen cooperation between the relevant institutions of Korea and the State Compulsory Health Insurance Agency of Azerbaijan.”
The transferred equipment consists of a defibrillator, an anesthesia machine, an artificial respiration machine, a device for non-invasive respiratory support for newborns, an incubator for newborns, a phototherapy device and an oxygen regulator. The total cost of the equipment is $300,000 (510,000 manats).
The medical equipment was transferred to the Republican Perinatal Center and the Children's Clinical Hospital No. 2.
