PACE warns member states on crisis sparked by pandemic

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has adopted a resolution entitled "Overcoming the socio-economic crisis sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic," Report's local bureau informs.

According to the document, the burden on states has doubled due to the pandemic.

The resolution also said that countries must continue to fight the medical crisis and eliminate the severe consequences of the pandemic.

At the same time, the document says that the pandemic has exacerbated inequality between men and women: "Women are more than men to lose their jobs due to the pandemic. Recently, there have been major difficulties in providing housing for families, and racial discrimination has increased. The negative effects of the pandemic are also evident in youth employment."
