New virus spreading rapidly around world

A new viral infection is rapidly spreading in India, which was discovered in May, but now it has spread to two other states, Report informs referring to the Lancet Respiratory Medicine.

Scientists are trying to determine what kind of virus it is and it has already been called tomato flu. The reason for this name was the painful red blisters that occur on the body of patients. The virus is highly contagious and is easily transmitted through close contact.

"The rare viral infection is in an endemic state and is considered non-life-threatening; however, because of the dreadful experience of the COVID-19 pandemic, the vigilant management is desirable to prevent further outbreaks," reads the article.

The new virus is very similar to coronavirus, chikungunya and dengue fever, which are common in India during the rainy season and are carried by mosquitoes.
