Baku. 7 January. REPORT.AZ/ No cases of swine flu have been reported in Azerbaijan during the season, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Health.
The level of seasonal flu and other acute respiratory infections has not exceeded the average for recent years: "However, the continuation of the tense epidemiological situation in bordering countries is a real threat to Azerbaijan and requires prophylactic, therapeutic and anti-epidemic measures.
In the meantime, medical institutions consulted with local Hygienic and Epidemiological Centers immediately, and the samples taken from suspicious patients are delivered to the Republican Anti-Plague Station. Supervision over sanitary-hygienic norms and rules, strict adherence to disinfection regime has been strengthened in Centers for Hygiene and Epidemiology in cities and regions of the Republic.
For the hospitalization of patients with severe influenza, special wards have been set up at the Scientific Research Institute of Lung Diseases, with a negative pressure boxing, Clinical Medical Center No.1 and Children's Infectious Diseases Hospital # 7, where they are ready for medication, medical supplies and inventory equipped.
Clinical Medical Center No 1 and Children's Infectious Disease Hospital No 7 have special wards against "swine flu" disease, they are ready and provided with medicines, medical supplies and inventory. Thermal Indicators have been installed to detect infected patients at border checkpoints.
867 samples from patients with acute respiratory symptoms have been sent to the Laboratory of the Republican Anti-Plague Station and swine flu has not been detected.
