Ministry of Health on virus spreading among population recently

Gastroenterologist Emin Mammadov, a specialist-expert at the Ministry of Health, has said the symptoms recently common among population are most likely caused by rotovirus, Report informs.

According to him, symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and high temperature, which are more common among people in Baku today, are not cases of food poisoning at all: "We cannot examine all those who come to us with such complaints, because it requires a lot of money. Those symptoms are most likely a viral infection, rotavirus. We advise patients to avoid antibiotic therapy in this case. While having the symptoms mentioned above, I recommend drinking plenty of fluids and stopping consuming dairy products and caffeine, as stabilization of that infection takes about 5-7 days. If there is no improvement after that period, consult a doctor."
