Ministry addresses those refusing to get COVID-19 vaccine

The Ministry of Health has commented on the refusal of some people to receive the vaccine.

Sabina Babazadeh, a member of the ministry's working group to combat COVID-19, said the vaccine was the most effective way to protect against infectious diseases, as quoted by Report.

She noted that currently, the vaccination process is successfully underway in line with the strategy: "Every citizen who meets the health conditions and is included in the strategy should participate in the vaccination process. (We invite you to participate) Vaccination, first of all, protects the person and their relatives from infection. We must not forget the number of mass infections and deaths. Vaccines will protect us from complications and deaths and reduce the burden on the healthcare system."

"I urge citizens to rely on reliable sources - the views of official bodies and representatives. Sometimes, pages on social networks share fake articles to increase the number of followers, which causes a stir. Such sharings sometimes lead to serious psychological tension, which is not unequivocally welcomed by society. Every citizen should trust only official information on sensitive issues. Winning over COVID-19 is possible only through achieving herd immunity by means of vaccination."

Azerbaijan started the vaccination process against COVID-19 on January 18. The vaccination is carried out voluntarily and at the state expense.
