Isolated persons not allowed outside through SMS permission

The persons under home-based isolation will not be able to leave home through SMS permission, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations Ulvi Mehdiyev told a briefing of the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday.

“TABIB (the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions) has submitted the list of such persons. Even if they send a text message to go outside, their request will be rejected.

Taking into account the increasing number of COVID-cases in the country, the government announced it will impose a strict quarantine regime in Baku, Sumgayit, Absheron, Ganja, Yevlakh, Jalilabad, Lankaran and Masalli cities and Absheron region from 00:00 on June 21 to 06:00 on July 5. People will be able to leave their places of residence only upon permission by sending a text message.

So far, Azerbaijan has reported 11,767 coronavirus cases and 143 related deaths. A total of 6,325 patients have recovered from the disease in the country.
