What to eat in hot summer days?

"We need to be careful about what we eat in hot summer days, as we risk to disrupt our water balance and lose minerals. The daily water intake should meet all needs of our body," Shumara Garajayeva, chief specialist at the Food Supply and Control Department of Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB), has said.

According to her, it is necessary to opt for food rich in minerals: "People with chronic diseases feel particular discomfort during the summer months. Therefore, they should give preference to fruits and vegetables but not exceed their intake. It is recommended to take a maximum of 4-5 servings of fruit a day."

The TABIB official said that a healthy diet is necessary for the formation of a robust immune system: "Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, the intake of protein foods is beneficial. It is mainly related to dairy products."
