Health Ministry official calls on population to remain vigilant since 'pandemic is not over yet'

People should not relax since the pandemic is not over yet, chief infectious disease specialist at Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health Tayyar Eyvazov said.

Report informs that, according to Eivazov, the delta strain is spreading rapidly, with the number of cases surging.

Speaking about the situation in neighboring Georgia, Eivazov said: "The daily number of infections in Georgia is close to 6,000. During the pandemic, people should change their lifestyle, keeping away from places where the risk of infection is high. Golden rules should be observed. On the other hand, the vaccination process should become massive. Sometimes, 80 thousand people were vaccinated in one day. It means that the state has such opportunities."

Eyvazov noted that people should unite and support the state to avoid bans and restrictions.
