Health Ministry: 'All 12 people whose remains were found in Edilli mass grave were young men'

Dozens of Azerbaijani citizens were killed in Edilli and buried in these areas, Adalat Hasanov, the director of the Forensic Medical Expertise and Pathological Anatomy Unit of the Azerbaijani Health Ministry, told the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

"So far, the remains of 25 people have been found. However, the search is still ongoing," he said.

According to Adalat Hasanov, 12 people, whose remains were found, were all young males:

"All of them were military personnel. There are no civilians among those whose remains were found. All of them have a rope on their legs. Some of them also have holes. This case will also be investigated in the laboratory. The General Prosecutor's Office will issue an opinion on the remains of each person. The questions that arise during the examination will be clarified."

On October 6, military attachés of diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan visited the mass grave discovered in Edilli village of Khojavand district. The representatives of the relevant state institutions detailed them about the excavation works carried out in the village, the remains found and the work to be done in the future.
