Azerbaijan offers Kazakhstan co-op in drug production

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Baku Alim Bayel and Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev have held a meeting and discussed cooperation in various areas of healthcare, according to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The Kazakh diplomat emphasized the high level and dynamics of bilateral relations. The ambassador noted that the number of Kazakhstanis visiting Azerbaijan for medical tourism is growing every year, and Azerbaijani citizens are successfully studying in medical schools in Kazakhstan.

In turn, Musayev pointed out the great potential for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the field of healthcare. According to the minister, the two countries could cooperate in the production of medicines. The minister also expressed interest in studying and implementing Kazakhstan's successful experience in the field of accreditation and quality control of medical institutions in Azerbaijan.

Bayel also stated at the meeting that Kazakhstani companies are ready to participate in the construction of medical facilities in Azerbaijan, including in the Karabakh region. The minister welcomed this initiative and expressed his readiness to cooperate in this area.

During the meeting, Musayev also emphasized that Azerbaijan supports the initiative to create a Coalition of countries on primary health care (PHC), put forward by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with the aim of promoting the principles of prevention and health protection and developing joint recommendations for the development of PHC.
