Azerbaijan Medical University plans to introduce Bachelor's degree program for nurses

The Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) is set to introduce a new bachelor's degree program for nurses, aiming to address the growing demand for qualified nursing professionals in the country, Sharafat Ismayilova, acting chairperson of the Center for Accreditation of Medical Institutions and Quality Control under the Ministry of Health, said.

According to Report, in addition to the nursing program, Ismailova highlighted the pressing need for more family physicians in Azerbaijan. She revealed that out of the 30 individuals who enrolled in the family medicine residency program, only five completed the course. "The demand for family doctors in the country remains unmet, and we are developing a new project to tackle this issue," she added.

The hearing at the Milli Majlis, titled "Primary Medical Care: Current Situation, Work Done, Problems, and Solutions," focused on addressing the challenges faced by the country's healthcare sector and exploring potential strategies for improvement.
