A meeting was held with Maris Balodis, the Director General of the Food and Veterinary Service of Latvia, at the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute (AFSI), Report informs.
At the meeting, M. Balodis was given broad information about the activities of the laboratories under AFSI, cooperation with international organizations, material and technical base.
Then, issues of mutual interest regarding the current state of bilateral cooperation in food safety, animal and plant health and development prospects were discussed. At the same time, the importance of active mutual exchange of experience was emphasized by discussions on determining future directions of cooperation.
After the meeting, the guest visited the laboratories of the Institute to get acquainted and learn the working principle. He became closely acquainted with the examination methods, expertise and research services conducted on the safety and quality indicators of plant and animal food products.
