Azerbaijan detects more COVID-19 cases: WHO

“To date, the European region has more than 2.2 million cases of COVID-19. More than 181 thousand people died,” Report quotes, Hans Kluge, Director of WHO Regional Office for Europe, as saying.

“Even though the weekly number of cases has decreased by almost half compared to April, the risk remains very high. In some countries, we see a gradual stabilization or decrease in the number of new cases. The Russian Federation and Ukraine are taking this path.

Several countries register a slight increase of infections resulting from individual health measures. Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Israel are taking energetic steps considering the national specifics.”

“Some countries, such as Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, have “revised their testing strategies over the past few weeks and now detect more cases thanks to their epidemiological surveillance system,” he said.
