Zurabishvili: Georgia welcomes EU assistance in establishing peace between Azerbaijan, Armenia

Georgia welcomes the EU assistance in establishing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said at the IX Global Baku Forum, the Georgian bureau of Report informs.

She noted that the EU has the necessary experience in this matter.

The South Caucasus can become an even more important region if long-term peace is established there, Zurabishvili added.

The president of Georgia also stressed the importance of developing relations among the countries of the South Caucasus.

Since February, the world has witnessed the unjust war in Ukraine and all its consequences, she said. Georgia must show solidarity to the Ukrainian people, she added, noting that everyone should, among other things, support and promote peace in this country.

The war in Ukraine has once again shown how important it is for all countries to work together and support each other, Zurabishvili added.
