Zalkaliani: Georgia's regional policy aimed at mutually beneficial cooperation

"Georgia's balanced and partnership relations with neighboring countries are undoubtedly aimed at mutually beneficial regional cooperation. This is our main priority," Georgia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said during a "ministerial hour" speech in parliament, Report informs.

According to him, the steps taken in this direction in 2021 were crucial:

"Due to the escalation in the region, we have pursued an unequivocally balanced policy towards the conflict. An immediate response was given to military cargo and transit. We have created conditions for the unimpeded movement of humanitarian aid, and it helped the de-escalation. Georgia's active contacts with both neighbors were also very important."
