Yerevan to hand over lost Azerbaijani service member to Baku

The Armenian authorities decided to return the lost Azerbaijani service member Ruslan Panakhov to his homeland, Report informs citing the Armenian National Security Service (NSS).

"As a sign of goodwill and in pursuance of the agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the highest level that military personnel of both sides who got lost and ended up on the opposite side should be returned as soon as possible, Armenia decided to hand over Ruslan Panahov to the Azerbaijani side," the NSS press service said in a statement.

Azerbaijani Army service member Panahov Ruslan Eldeniz oglu lost the direction of movement under unfavorable weather conditions moving between service positions in the Lachin district.

The Armenian side reported that the Azerbaijani soldier who crossed the border was detained. After that, a criminal case was opened against him on several trumped-up charges.
