Yashar Aliyev: Azerbaijan calls on Armenia to pay compensation for damage

Azerbaijan calls on Armenia to pay compensation for the damage and to participate honestly in the peace talks, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Yashar Aliyev said, addressing the open debate in connection with "Famine and conflict-induced global food insecurity" under the agenda item "Maintenance of international peace and security" of the UN Security Council, Report informs.

"Armenia must comply with its international obligations, completely withdraw its armed forces from the territory of Azerbaijan, put an end to territorial claims, illegal activities, and disinformation, stop mine terrorism, shed light on the fate of nearly 4,000 Azerbaijanis who went missing during the conflict, pay for the damage caused to Azerbaijan, including its food security systems, and honestly participate in the negotiations on the peace agreement and border delimitation between the two states. Azerbaijan is determined to protect its people, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and is fully committed to the goals of a peaceful, secure, stable, and prosperous region," Aliyev emphasized.
