Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulates Ilham Aliyev

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, president of Ukraine, has sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Independence Day, Report informs referring to AzerTac.

"Your Excellency,

On behalf of the people of Ukraine and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the occasion of the national holiday of Azerbaijan, the Independence Day.

Today, Azerbaijan is confidently moving on the path of development, strengthening its position on the global stage, and has reclaimed its internationally recognized territories. This is what Ukraine is aspiring to as it has been forced into a war with the Russian Federation.

It is extremely important that Ukraine and Azerbaijan mutually support each other's independence and territorial integrity. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to you and the people of Azerbaijan, Mr. President, for the help provided at a crucial moment for Ukraine.

I appreciate our personal constructive dialogue, which contributes to strengthening of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani partnership across all domains of mutual interest. Therefore, I hope that you will participate in the first Peace Summit, scheduled to be held in Switzerland this June, and that Azerbaijan will actively join Ukraine’s Peace Formula.

Your Excellency, I wish you robust health, new achievements in your state activities, and peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Azerbaijan," reads the letter.
