Azerbaijani ambassador to France and the Vatican Rahman Mustafayev held a number of meetings with representatives of the Holy See, discussing the situation in the South Caucasus, Report informs that the ambassador wrote about this on his Twitter page.
"Meetings were held in the Vatican with Deputy State Secretariat Edgar Pena Parra, and Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue Cardinal Miguel Angel Ayuso Guixot, at which, the post-conflict situation in our region, Azerbaijan's peaceful initiatives, the strengthening of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Vatican were discussed," the tweet says.
As Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev stated at a press conference following the meetings in the Vatican, the Karabakh conflict has been resolved and the time has come for reconciliation.
“The war is over and the conflict is over. Currently, the most important task is the demining and restoration of the Azerbaijani territories liberated from the Armenian occupation, the delimitation and demarcation of the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the signing of a peace agreement between the two countries. The time has come for reconciliation. We stand for peace, security and development in the region."
