Azerbaijan managed to reshape regional politics, paving way to peace, US official says

Azerbaijan has emerged as a central player in transforming regional politics and establishing peace, according to James O'Brien, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.

According to Report, during his visit to Baku, O'Brien emphasized the strong and effective partnership between the United States and Azerbaijan across various domains.

He stated that a large part of today's discussions in Baku focused on the regional situation.

According to O'Brien, during his meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, they addressed several specific issues, particularly examining the regional context and highlighted the establishment of peace in the region.

O'Brien underscored that recent events have enabled Azerbaijan to play a pivotal role in changing regional politics, leading to the establishment of peace. He elaborated that this is not only a way to resolve a decades-long dispute between countries but also an opportunity to build peaceful relations for the future, which will benefit the region as a whole.

The US official also highlighted the potential economic benefits of regional cooperation. He noted that collaboration among countries in the region would not only improve the security situation but also facilitate the transportation of goods from Central Asia through Azerbaijan, and then via Georgia and Armenia to global markets.
