Over the past years, the United States has not paid due attention to the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Michael Doran, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, told Report.
According to him, the United States has the potential to play a significant role in establishing peace in the region and normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan.
However, over the past 10 years, this has not been given due attention, he said.
The expert noted that there were many clear signs that the Biden administration began to understand the value of achieving peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and Azerbaijan's strategic importance to the US, but the issue still failed to have the clear focus needed.
On the prospects of the Zangazur corridor, the US expert said that at present there is a further strengthening of allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, and the opening of this corridor will raise the level of these relations even higher.
Doran also noted the strengthening of trilateral Azerbaijan-Turkiye-Israel cooperation, which, according to the expert, will also have an impact on the region, in general.
