US govertnment shutdown did not affect visa issuance in Azerbaijan

Baku. 26 December. REPORT.AZ/ The US government shutdown did not affect the process of visa issuance in the US Embassy to Azerbaijan, Report informs.

"At this time, scheduled passport and visas services in the United States and at U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas will continue during the lapse in appropriations as the situation permits. We will not update this account until full operations resume, with the exception of urgent safety and security information.", - US Embassy to Azerbaijan said in a statement in  social networks.

The US government suspended its work partially as the democrats and republicans failed to agree the budget.

Part of the national parks, some attractions were closed as the result of the shutdown in the United States, while employees of a number of state institutions were obliged to hold holidays at the office. The air controllers, law enforcers, FBI, customs and other officials had to work for free.

President Donald Trump said the US govertnment will not resume its activity unless the democrats in the Congress approve the funding of the wall on the Mexican border.
