The recent statement by the former ruling Uruguayan Broad Front party in support of Armenia and the illegal separatist regime it created in the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan in Karabakh is nothing other than the influence of the Armenian community of Uruguay, American political scientist and expert in the field of international relations Peter Tase told Report.
"This statement is a laughing stock and shows how corrupt the Uruguayan politicians have become, in writing on paper ridiculous statements that openly violate international humanitarian laws and disseminate hate against the people and the Republic of Azerbaijan," he said.
"It is absolutely offensive and incomprehensible to see that Uruguayan politicians are in the back pockets of Armenian barbarians who have moved to Uruguay and resort to underhand tactics as well as exert pressure on Broad Front Party legislators. A large community of Armenians in Montevideo is causing so much harm to the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay," Tase noted.
"The president of Azerbaijan has conducted impressive leadership towards mending ties and establishing long-term alliances with the Republics of Argentina, Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Brazil and Colombia.
Moreover, the Government of Azerbaijan must re-establish ties with great friends of Azerbaijan such as Senator Jorge Gandini, who has given a number of keynote lectures about the successful economic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uruguay and is a great defender of the people of Azerbaijan in Uruguay and throughout the Latin American region."
