US expert: Armenia deceives international community

Armenia easily deceives the international community through strong propaganda, and as a result, the truths of Karabakh and Azerbaijan are presented in a distorted way without any evidence, US journalist, national security analyst, lawyer Irina Zuckerman told Report.

“While the international community accepts Ukraine as an independent state and Donetsk as its sovereign territory, Karabakh is still presented as a disputed territory in a number of Western media, despite the four resolutions adopted by the UN. Also, Armenians living there are not viewed as citizens of Azerbaijan, but as a community whose existence would be impossible without relations with Armenia,” she said.

The expert noted that there are video and photo footages that make it difficult for Russia to deny its actions in Ukraine. In the case of Baku and Yerevan, although Armenia has no real facts about the allegations, the international community is under the influence of the claim of blocking the road:

“Because the Armenian lobby made up such a story, and ‘reliable’ Western sources such as the Atlantic Council helped to promote this story. However, as I mentioned, they can't provide any serious evidence in this regard, they just tell stories that can be deemed as anecdotes to naive listeners.”

Zuckerman believes that to prevent this, it is necessary to take clear satellite images of the region and show that there are no obstacles to legitimate assistance:

“At the same time, it is important for politicians who know the region well to make statements in this direction. In parallel, it should be emphasized that Armenia's protests are not completely independent, but are directly inspired by Russia, which is trying to disrupt the peace process. It is not clear what kind of concessions Pashinyan hopes for from this fictional story, while Baku is adamant in terms of protecting its security. Armenia's propaganda is simply based on decades of deliberately distorted information in the Western media. The distorted information includes the use of the term ‘Nagorno-Karabakh’, and misinformation about the Second Karabakh War. The dissemination of all these things was possible by the silent cooperation of various Christian organizations in Western countries. Most of them have visited Azerbaijan and theoretically know the reality, but rather than face the lies of the Armenian lobby, they prefer to quietly take their donations instead. It is necessary to reveal who they are by publishing photos of each person participating in such campaigns, showing that they had a great time in Baku and met with the Armenian lobby after returning to their country.”
