US Deputy Secretary of State and Erdogan's Spokesperson discuss situation in Karabakh

Chief Counselor to the President of the Turkish Republic İbrahim Kalın has met with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R. Sherman in Ankara, Report informs.

The sides exchanged views on the agenda of the NATO summit in Brussels in June and issues to be discussed at a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Joe Biden.

İbrahim Kalın and Wendy Sherman also discussed Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, as well as the situation in the east of Ukraine and Karabakh. The parties agreed to continue joint activities to ensure peace and stability in these regions.

The importance of considering the Turkish-American relations based on mutual trust and active cooperation was noted.

It was stressed that the cooperation of the two important NATO allies, Turkey and the US, strengthens the alliance and contributes to international peace and security in the face of new challenges.

The officials also discussed the issues regarding the fight against terrorism.
