The activeness of Russia and Iran in the South Caucasus is worrying, Karen Donfried, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, said, Report informs, citing foreign media sources.

According to her, the Russian “peacekeepers” stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh do not play a constructive role, and Iran is actively trying to expand its political, security, and economic role in the South Caucasus: “The activeness of Russia and Iran in the South Caucasus should give even make a greater contribution to the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process.”
