US allocates additional $1M to Azerbaijan to fight COVID

The US government has allocated an additional $1 million to Azerbaijan to fight COVID-19, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger said in Shamakhi at the ceremony of handing over three mobile clinics by the World Health Organization (WHO) to TABIB (Management Union of the Medical Territorial Unions) under the State Mandatory Health Insurance Agency within the PROACT-Care project, Report informs.

The ambassador noted that the allocated funds will be provided to Azerbaijan through the WHO and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

In general, the US allocated $6.6 million to Azerbaijan to overcome the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

The US ambassador stressed the importance of joining efforts in defeating COVID.
