UNESCO Director-General denies publication of Guardian newspaper

Baku. 5 September. REPORT.AZ/ Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO has denied the information of Guardian newspaper article dated September 5, entitled Azerbaijan 'operated secret $3bn secret slush fund' allegedly that her husband Kalin Mitrev was involved in a large-scale scheme money laundering and lobbying related to Azerbaijan.

Report informs citing the Bulgarian media, commenting on the information, I. Bokova said that she has nothing to do with this, and has already announced this to the Guardian.

"As UNESCO Director General, I am obliged to develop working relations with all members of the organization in accordance with the policy established by the member states, and Azerbaijan is not an exception", I. Bokova said.
