UNDP: Conference in Baku creates platform for exchange of experience in mine action

The international conference in Baku creates an excellent platform for exchanging experience, best technologies, and approaches in mine clearance, Chargé d'Affaires of the UNDP Office in Azerbaijan Sukhrob Khojimatov said, as quoted by Report.

"This conference creates a platform for discussing the most pressing issues of strengthening cooperation, the best technologies, methods, and approaches in demining. I am glad that Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a center on a regional scale. The recommendations made here will benefit everyone," Sukhrob Khozhimatov said.

An international conference on the topic "Humanitarian demining and sustainable development goals" has started in Baku today.

The agenda of the conference covers topics such as improving cooperation mechanisms to enhance global demining efforts, the joint participation of government organizations in this process, the international community, the private sector, and civil society, the application of best practices, innovative methods and technological innovations.

About 120 participants from 30 countries of the world take part in it, including 20 officials of structures specialized in demining from the UK, Serbia, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Angola, Cambodia, Jordan, Sudan, etc. Among the participants, there are also members of parliaments of foreign countries, representatives of international organizations, and embassies.
