UN: Regional Training Center on Migration in Azerbaijan to help broaden co-op

The project on the creation of the regional training center on migration in Azerbaijan is being implemented for already a year. Three training sessions have already been held as part of the project, head of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan Vusal Huseynov said speaking at the Regional Workshop on the elaboration of joint recommendations for the Roadmap of the Regional Training Center on Migration (RTCM) in Azerbaijan within the framework of “Supporting the establishment of a regional training center on migration in Azerbaijan” project.

He said the online library of the training center would be created shortly.

He also noted that one more important issue is the regulation of the migration issues after the pandemic ends.

According to Huseynov, the liberation of Azerbaijani territories already has a positive effect on the work of the migration service in the country.

According to the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva, the creation of the regional training center will help the countries share experience in migration.

Migration is an important issue in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and it helps expand regional cooperation and dialogue, Vladanka Andreeva said, noting that she was looking forward to the opening of this center in Azerbaijan.
