"In the post-pandemic period, the participation of youth in building a sustainable future must be ensured," President of the UN General Assembly (GA) Abdulla Shahid said in his video address to the Youth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku.
He emphasized that youth should play an active role in solving global challenges, ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic to climate change.
Shahid said that youth make a vital contribution to the development of global stability: "The Non-Aligned Movement offers young people from all over the world a platform for cultural exchange."
According to him, global platforms, including the UN, should create opportunities for young people.
The President of the UN General Assembly thanked Azerbaijan for hosting such an event.
