Ukrainian MP: Karabakh can become important platform for cooperation

As Azerbaijan is mainly focusing on the restoration of the recently liberated territories, it can become an essential platform for cooperation between our countries, Lyudmila Marchenko, member of Ukraine's Supreme Rada, deputy co-chair of the group on interparliamentary relations with Azerbaijan, wrote on Facebook upon results of her visit to Baku.

Report informs that Marchenko expressed Ukraine's readiness to develop a strategic partnership with Azerbaijan.

"Much was talked about; there are many ideas and plans. But all these directions are united by Azerbaijan's strategic goal to restore the territories regained militarily in 2020. An opportunity to assimilate programs of reintegration of territories and gain experience opens for Ukraine here," the publication reads.

As is noted, the meeting focused on the development of mutual ties in the economic sphere.

"Azerbaijan is ready to provide privileges to our investors and to hold talks," Marchenko said.

Marchenko said the trade relations between the two countries were also discussed.

"Azerbaijan has the production interesting for Ukraine and vise versa," she said.

"Active cooperation in the information sphere starts between Baku and Kyiv via the International media platform Ukraine-Azerbaijan," Marchenko added.

Lyudmila Marchenko noted that the meetings with Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev, and Chairman of Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov took place during the visit to Baku. Marchenko also thanked the chairman of the United Diaspora, co-chairman of the Rada of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine, Doctor of Law Hikmat Javadov for assistance in deepening ties with Azerbaijan.
