Ukrainian Azerbaijanis address public over journalists' death

The Council of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine expresses its condolences to the families of AzTV channel's cameraman Siraj Abishov, the employee of the AZERTAC news agency Maharram Ibrahimov and the civil servant Arif Aliyev, who died in a landmine explosion in the Kalbajar region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the statement of the Public Council.

"After the tripartite statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on the ceasefire, more than 120 civilians sustained injuries of varying severity, and 18 people died in the explosion of mines planted by the Armenian armed formations during the occupation of the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan. The authorities of the Republic of Armenia refuse to provide a map of minefields, and representatives of international organizations tacitly observe the violations of the Armenian side of its international legal obligations. While the leaders of Western countries, in pursuit of their selfish interests, ignore the destructive actions of Yerevan, devoid of any morality and philanthropy, innocent residents are dying in Karabakh, and the possibility of establishing lasting peace and harmony in relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Armenia is becoming more and more unrealistic," the statement reads.

The Council of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine condemns the inhuman policy of the authorities of the Republic of Armenia and calls on the international community and all authorized supranational bodies to actively and urgently force the Armenian authorities to fulfill their obligations under international law.
