The UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan, Baroness Nicholson has arrived in Azerbaijan.
Report informs that the UK Embassy to Azerbaijan that this is the second one week visit of Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan to Azerbaijan in 2019.
The Trade Envoy will attend several opening ceremonies of projects funded by the UK Government and implemented by British Council Azerbaijan to celebrate the good cultural and educational relations between the UK and Azerbaijan.
Along with meetings with Azerbaijani top officials and the British business community members, the Trade Envoy will also meet with the prominent women leaders of the community to speak about women empowerment, domestic violence and other gender and child protection related issues.
Ahead of the visit, Baroness said: “The UK and Azerbaijan have a long-standing and successful bilateral relationship which goes beyond the commercial and energy fields. I am delighted to be visiting Azerbaijan for the second time in 2019 and I look forward to further developing the UK and Azerbaijani relationship of course in the business field but also in the cultural, educational, environmental and healthcare fields. I am looking forward to my conversations with the Azerbaijani government to explore further opportunities for cooperation.“
