UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan, James Sharp has met today with the UNDP Resident Representative Alessandro Fracassetti to discuss cooperation on promoting gender equality and increasing energy efficiency in the country, Report informs.
Two important agreements were signed at the meeting.
The first of these was an agreement to use UK resources to expand the successful work of Women’s Resource Centres in Barda, Agjabedi and Terter by putting the needs and concerns of women in these areas at the heart of our work.
The second agreement was a Memorandum of Cooperation to help promote energy efficiency in buildings and accelerate innovative greening infrastructure in the regions of Ganja and Barda. These regions were selected on account of having been severely affected by the recent outbreak of military conflict.
