UK ambassador: Agreement for COP29 to be held in Baku 'positive signal' for regional peace

The United Kingdom is ready to do what it can to assist Azerbaijan in making the COP29 climate conference a success, British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld said, according to Report.

Speaking at the official birthday celebration of King Charles III in Baku, the ambassador emphasized the monarch's priorities in combating climate change and protecting nature.

Ambassador Auld recalled that Azerbaijan will be hosting COP29 in just five months, stating, "The next six months will be even more exciting. The agreement for COP29 to be held in Baku was a positive signal six months ago - for both climate and peace in the region. I hope that both Azerbaijan and Armenia can continue to lean forwards to reach a sustainable peace agreement before COP29."
