The signing of an agreement on cooperation between the cultural capital of Europe - the city of Veszprem and the cultural capital of the Turkic world - the city of Shusha opened up new opportunities in the field of culture, Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultan Raev tweeted, Report informs referring to the Ankara bureau of Report.
The publication notes that by the decision of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY, Shusha was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2023. The secretary-general noted that this opportunity must be comprehensively assessed: “We must use this opportunity for cultural, educational and propaganda activities.”
On January 30, within the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Hungary, the cities of Shusha and Veszprem signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing friendly relations and cooperation in the field of culture, tourism, urban planning, science, economy and other areas of public life.
The document was signed by Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov and Mayor of the city of Veszprem Gyula Porga.
