Turkish Parliament adopts bill on extension of Turkish troops’ stay in Azerbaijan for another year

The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) adopted the bill on extending the mandate of the Turkish Armed Forces in Azerbaijan for another year.

"Report" informs that the proposal was accepted in the voting held at the end of the discussions.

Today, the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) will discuss the bill on extending the mandate of the Turkish Armed Forces in Azerbaijan for another year, Report informs.

According to the bill, the period of stay of Turkish servicemen in Azerbaijan is extended for another year, starting November 17, 2023.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan submitted the bill to parliament.

The bill states that as a result of local anti-terrorist measures carried out by the Azerbaijani Army in the Karabakh region on September 19–20, the illegal regime in the territory was completely abolished, but the final peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia has not yet been signed.
